Position: Architect (RA)
With over fifteen years of professional experience in the discipline of architecture, Monica brings a unique blend of knowledge and expertise to Acton Construction stemming from her international background. Born and raised in Taiwan, she spent most of her career in the field of residential architecture working in the Bay Area, with a five-year stint in China and Taiwan (working on large commercial projects) before recently returning to the Bay Area.
Monica brings to Acton Construction exemplary expertise in residential projects that incorporate a multitude of building styles, while also ensuring safety and sustainability are met. Monica works closely with clients to understand their project scope, budget, and other specific requirements. Early in the design process you may see her conducting a site visit, measuring or recording the current conditions of a home. Other times, you may find her coordinating closely with engineers, contractors or interior designers. Mostly, you’ll marvel at Monica’s handiwork and detailed construction documents that are painstakingly prepared for our construction team. She takes pride in her detail-oriented approach, and her speed and prowess with the latest architectural programs.
When asked what attracted Monica to Acton Construction the most she replied, “The culture. I also enjoy the challenging work, independence and supportive work environment.” Monica also enjoys learning and growing as a professional. Working for a design/build firm for the first time, she values the unique design/build process that considers design decisions in collaboration with construction early in the planning stage—mindful of its impact on a client’s budget.
When Monica isn’t working, you’ll find her at a movie theater, working out in a gym, or relaxing at home, and saving money to travel the world—her true passion. She hopes to embark on an African safari one day.
