Position: Senior Designer
Hilda Moattar is a residential designer who has gained valuable experience working freelance since 2010 (on both residential and commercial projects), and part-time with several Bay Area design firms.
Fueled by her love of space planning and problem-solving, Hilda brings a unique technical skill set to Acton Construction, particularly CAD and SketchUp. She not only teaches AutoCAD and SketchUp to college students in the Bay Area (since 2014), she has earned an AutoCAD certification, interior design certification, and an interior design degree from West Valley College. Hilda also carries a bachelor’s degree from Shiraz University in Iran.
When asked about what she is passionate about professionally, she replied, “I am passionate about what I do. I am always interested in learning new skills— knowledge is power! I also believe people trust us with their most expensive investment, their house. It is a great privilege and responsibility to earn their trust and create a home for them to enjoy for many years to come. As a designer, I welcome this opportunity to positively impact people’s lives.”
Hilda is also a LEED Green Associate (supporting green building); and a member of ASID (American Society of Interior Designers).
Hilda believes in giving back to the community, taking every opportunity to be involved in philanthropy projects. She is particularly fond of Saint Jude Hospital, supporting their research efforts to end childhood cancer.
Hilda loves spending time with her kids and family. She enjoys traveling, camping, reading, and riding her bike. Like many of us parents, Hilda is a proud mom taking advantage of any opportunity to talk about her kids. Hilda also loves to watch historical, political and well-made movies, particularly on Saturdays or Sunday afternoons.
Hilda won two ASID awards as part of the Lucile Glessner Design team for two commercial office designs in 2016 and 2017.
