Design Build

Established in 1990, Acton Construction began as a traditional, competitive bid contractor. Over the years, we've witnessed how this approach can lead to frustration and result in decisions clients regret. For clients, the process of vetting potential contractors, trying to figure out exactly what is actually included in a bid is time consuming and, at best, somewhat of a gamble. And how, in that environment, can a client possibly evaluate options and manage their budget? The inadequacies of the competitive bid model led us to the Design Build model. It's a team approach that creates a finished product that meets your needs and stays within your budget, while providing superior value, the highest quality and beautiful, long lasting results.

With Design Build, we can act more as a consultant. Our approach means that the expertise of the various team members are brought to bear all phases of design and project development. We don't bury the cost of bidding other people's project into the price of your project. By setting and sticking to a budget we help eliminate the anxiety of going over budget. During the design process, we can pre-schedule the start of construction and arrange for all resources to be ready, minimizing delays and keeping everything on schedule.

What Is Design Build?

A holistic approach to remodeling that starts with a team. The team includes the client, a carefully selected group of design professionals, the appropriate building department and the construction team. Because the entire team is involved from the very beginning, the project avoids the starts and stops, change orders, communication and budget problems so commonly associated remodeling. It is an integrated, controlled experience from start to finish.
