Architect/Senior Designer

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Working directly with clients and leading the remodeling design development
  • Manage all aspects of the design by regularly conferring with the client to determine factors affecting planning interior and exterior environments, such as budget, architectural preferences, life style, family size, and purpose and function
  • Advise client on interior and exterior design factors such as space planning, layout and utilization of fixtures, appliances, or equipment, and color coordination.
  • Develop graphic sketches to convey design intent
  • Evaluate site conditions and constraints for construction project, including but not limited to inspection of crawl space, attic, roofing, and other structural and architectural components
  • Conduct design meetings/presentations
  • Develop complete detailed construction plans
  • Review engineering and other consultant drawings to ensure they comply with design intention
  • Permitting – Submitting for, managing the process of, and obtaining all permits

Skills and Key Competencies:

  • Bachelors of architecture or design school or equivalent experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Fantastic people skills
  • Extensive knowledge of design principles, aesthetics, and space planning methodology and ability to independently drive a project from start to finish
  • Extensive knowledge of building systems, codes and ADA requirements
  • Proficiency in: Chief Architect 
  • Proficiency in: MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Desirable Skills:

  • Select or suggest plumbing fixtures, accessories, appliances, colors, cabinetry, molding and other visual design elements

Apprentice Carpenter

This successful candidate will have a passion for ‘owning’ their work, meaning that will be held accountable for their own actions and results, learn from their mistakes, and help others learn, as part of a collaborative team.  We are looking for someone who wants to be part of something spectacular–where they can establish roots and contribute to the company for many years to come. 

Specific qualifications:

  • Preferably 1-2 years construction experience
  • Some knowledge of power tool use
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to lift 100+ lbs.
  • Hard-working
  • Positive attitude
  • Desire to improve
  • Willingness to learn and be taught
  • Appreciation of quality workmanship
  • Spanish, a plus
